When Can You Make a Correction?

Corrections are usually possible while your details are still being checked by our team — that is, before they have been sent to the UK authorities. Once everything has been sent across, changes may no longer be possible through us, because the official decision is then in the authorities' hands.

For this reason, we kindly encourage you to write to us as soon as you notice that something needs putting right. The earlier you let us know, the more we can help.

What Can Be Corrected?

While our team is still looking over your details, we can usually help with the following types of corrections:

  • A small change to your name (for example, a spelling correction)
  • Updates to your passport details (such as a new passport number)
  • A change to your travel dates or where you'll be visiting
  • An updated email address or telephone number
  • Any other small detail that needs putting right

To request a correction, please write to our friendly team through our Contact page. So that we can help you as quickly as possible, please include the following in your message:

Once we receive your message, a real person from our team will gently look at your request. If we can make the correction, we will update your details and email you to confirm. If we need anything else from you, we'll write to you with kind, clear instructions.

Your application then continues calmly through our review — the small correction does not start the whole process over again.
